Study, Add (FREE!) Caffeine, Repeat.

Academic Center Director, Guest Contributor

If you haven’t been to the Academic Center lately, you probably won’t recognize us!

This summer we expanded the Academic Center (AC) to the area at the bottom of the OSP stairs. You’ll find love seats, a few comfortable chairs and study tables as well! In the main area of the AC, we have new furniture AND three new computers (just added last week)! The Writing Center is up and running with available hours Sundays – Thursdays from 3-5 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. We have also welcomed Lisa Rouleau, Director of First Year Experience. Stop by and say hello!

Our latest addition is a coffee station located in the OSP break room! Where is the break room, you ask? Well, it’s the room with the vending machines are here on the first floor of OSP, between the Trice Room and the bathrooms. You’ll find a twelve cup coffee maker with all the fixins’… coffee, creamer, and sugar! You’ll also find a water cooler that dispenses both hot and cold water and caffeinated/decaffeinated tea bags.

In appreciation of the environment and budget, we will be providing mugs and not disposable cups. You are welcome to bring your own cup or mug, but there are many mugs available for your convenience. Please be respectful to your sisters and be sure to wash, dry and put away your mug after you use it. It is my sincere hope that the mugs won’t grow legs and walk away or be left for someone else to wash!

If you haven’t visited lately, stop by to see us! Maybe use a computer, reserve the Smartboard room, request a tutor, or just relax! We are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and even have wireless internet! It is my sincere hope that you enjoy visiting the AC as much as I do! As always, we welcome your feedback and plead that you sign in each time you visit. In order to continue to make improvements to the AC, we need to show that you visit, enjoy your time here, and that we are meeting your academic needs. And besides, if you sign in, we have a weekly drawing for fun prizes, and it just might be your lucky day!
